Cardi B reveals why she didn’t submit ‘WAP’ for a Grammy

Cardi B isn’t upset to have been banned from the official list of Grammy nominations for 2021.

The 28-year-old rapper revealed in a recent Instagram Live that she was waiting for the Grammys 2022, when her full album can be nominated instead.

“Like I said I never lobbied for a Grammy, but you’re not going to take away something I know I worked my * ss off [for], which I deserve, ”she pointed out in the live video.

Cardi added that if she “had been in a hurry for a Grammy, I would have submitted ‘WAP’ for this year and I did not submit it. I didn’t want to be subjected to any awards before releasing my album because I think my album is so good. “

She continued, teasing that the album “means something and I worked on it a lot. I have been working there for almost 2 years. And some songs are so emotional for me because I made them in my forties.

While Cardi was excluded from the list this year, his co-collaborator on “WAP”, Megan Thee stallion, picked up several, with Record of the Year, Best Rap Song and Best Rap Performance for “Savage” and Best New Artist.

Cardi won the award for best rap album at Grammys 2019 for Breach of privacy.
