American women’s football star Carli Lloyd stunned fans Thursday as it appeared she was the only American player standing before the team’s game against Australia at the Tokyo Olympics.

It looks like the rest of her teammates decided to kneel down to protest racism and discrimination ahead of the bronze medal match against Australia. Lloyd stood next to the match referee as the Australian football team united.

The US women’s football team drew criticism at the start of the Olympics when the players knelt before the official game against Sweden. In this one, the United States would lose 3-0.

It was a different tune Thursday.

Megan Rapinoe scored two goals and Lloyd added to her own US Olympic record with two goals. Rapinoe and Lloyd were all the United States needed in the 4-3 win.

Rapinoe’s first goal came in the eighth minute of the game. She scored from an impressive corner that she managed to get around Australian goalkeeper Teagan Micah. About 13 minutes later, Rapinoe took advantage of an Australian error and sent a laser beam to the back of the net.

Lloyd scored just before the end of the first half and then again just after the start of the second half. She became the first American football player to score in four different Olympic Games. It was Lloyd’s 10th Olympic goal, breaking a record previously held by Abby Wambach.

Australian football legend Sam Kerr tied the game in the first half with his own goal in the 17th minute. Caitlin Foord and Emily Gielnik scored the other two goals for Australia.
