Carly Pearce has struggled a bit the past few days.
The star, who won a Country Music Association (CMA) award on Wednesday for Music Event of the Year for the song “I Hope You’re Happy Now” with Lee Brice, revealed to Entertainment Tonight that she had had an “accident” before the show.

“So it’s worth it,” she said in reference to the star-studded show. “I was a little embarrassed to be here with my face and so it’s just great.”

When Brice, 41, had to retire, Lady A’s Charles Kelley stepped in to perform the duet with the singer.
The performance was pre-recorded, which turned out to be a blessing as Lady A had to withdraw from the show entirely due to exposure to the coronavirus.
Despite the chaos, Pearce was able to enjoy his victory.
“I don’t know how to explain it. I mean, it’s really like a dream come true,” the star said. “I’ve never held one of these and now that I know I have one, it’s crazy… I’m like, it’s worth it.

Additionally, she contacted Brice and Kelley, 39, to check on their health. They are “doing fine,” Pearce said.
