Carly Rae Jepsen has released a new single called “Me And The Boys In The Band”. A few months ago, Jepsen teased the possibility of a quarantine album, although it’s not clear if that came from that or just a single locked out recording. In any case, it is associated with a music video which was filmed in quarantine and features appearances with Jack Antonoff, Tavish Crowe, Jared Manerika and Nik Pesut (aka the boys in the group).
Earlier this year she released Dedicated B side, a collection of leftovers from his last studio album Devoted. Later this month she celebrates fifth birthday with a karaoke night.
Here’s Jepsen’s quote on the track:
On the road. It was life. I miss the trips and the performances, as well as my band mates who over the years have become my foster brothers. Through good and bad romantic relationships, I always found myself in late night conversations with my group. Here are all the shows that we have played and have not yet played. The late-night dancers that we become on long bus rides and the tourists that we become in the early mornings. Here is the city of longing and keeping those who know you best nearby. I can not wait anymore. Until then, a house song “pick me up” from all of us to you. Me and the boys and the group!
