In April of this year, a federal judge threatened to ban Carnival cruise ships from entering US ports to punish possible breaches of his probation.

Carnival admits six violations of probation

The company admitted six offenses, including forgery of two ships' environmental training records and deliberate dumping of plastic into Bahamian waters without accurately recording the illegal release.

Carnival said it has entered into a new agreement with the Department of Justice.

The company added that it was considering creating a compliance committee, appointing a compliance officer, and developing strategies to reduce plastic and food waste.
