CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WW) – Hurricane Dorian is about to get involved, but that did not stop some people from having fun at Carolina Beach on Wednesday night.

Carolina Beach is the subject of a mandatory evacuation and many businesses are closed, but not The Dive Food and Spirits.

There were many people hanging around, drinking and relaxing. You could call it calm before the storm.

One official said they planned to stay open until 2:00 am and that customers did not seem too concerned about the impending storm.

"Oh, I can only eat a bite," said Tim Holbrook, a resident of Kure Beach. "Already stocked, generator. It's not my first, I think it's like my 15th. "

"I'm going out, hopefully it's not as big as last year," said John Ittu, a Dive customer. "There are many more people staying here this year, I think everyone is prepared and we will see what happens."

Also at Carolina Beach, The Fat Pelican planned to stay open Wednesday night until 1 pm and reopen Friday.
