Carrot Weather has come out with a great update to accompany the launch of iOS 15 which includes a host of new features and improvements. Headlining the release, SF themes and icon sets to further personalize your experience, XL iPad widgets including forecasts and maps, time sensitive and critical notifications, and much more.

Carrot Weather 5.4 for iOS 15 is available now from the App Store as a free update.

Autumn is almost here, the bags of meat! And while you were busy deciding how obscene your Halloween costume should be this year, I’ve been working hard on a major update to your favorite weather app.

The upgrades this time around include something for everyone from premium subscribers to those who don’t. However, the biggest new features like widgets, themes, and SF icon sets for iPad XL require premium subscriptions.

Full release notes:

Oversized iPad Widgets

The My Forecasts and Maps widgets take full advantage of the increased screen area of the oversized iPad widgets. (Automatic background updates require a Premium Club membership; the Maps widget requires Premium Ultra.)

Themes

Want to dress me in some fancy new hues? Customize my background and accent colors from the display screen. (Premium Club membership required.)

SF Icon Sets

I packed not one, not two, but three new sets of system style weather icons. Customize from the display screen. (Premium Club membership required.)

Notification upgrades

Rain, lightning and weather alert notifications will be sent by default as “weather sensitive” so they can bypass Focus filters. And you can now sign up to receive critical alerts for warnings that NOAA says have a high likelihood of “significant” or “catastrophic” damage. (Premium Club membership required.)

Smart complication

My new smart complication works the same as the maps in my main iOS app: you choose the thresholds for the different data points that may appear in the complication, and I’ll show the highest priority as the conditions go. change during the day. Available only for high complication niches; set up from my iPhone app. (Premium Club membership required.)

Redesigned detail screens

The current sightings, hourly forecast, and daily forecast detail screens have all got a new look! They are easier to read and include more weather features than ever before.

New content

There’s a whole new achievement to unlock, newer – that’s right, I said NEW – new secret locations to hunt down.

But wait, there is more!

– Added toast notification when smart layouts change current layout. (Tap the notification banner to turn off the notification.)

– Added an option at the bottom of the layout screen to disable smart layouts.

– Added two new styles of vertical daily forecast charts. Toggle “show temperature gradient” to toggle between the two styles.

– Added optional temperature gradient to daily forecast vertical stack style.

– Added sensation and wet bulb temperatures to the list of data points available for the daily forecast detail screen.

– Added a new 3-day forecast complication for the Infograph Modular face.

– Added option to hide alerts button in Apple Watch app.

– Added custom notification for wet bulb temperature data point.

– Added an option in Settings> General for VoiceOver users to enable the speech synthesizer.

Now will start to collect nuts for the winter. I have a cold planned for you.

XOXO,

CARROT
