Tuesday was a good day for the pro-Carson Wentz crowd.

Wentz was on fire for his second OTA in the off season that was open to the media, separating the Eagles defense and offering perfect passes throughout the day.

Here is a complete overview of the practice, with some observations:

Wentz: The story of the day was Wentz. For starters, the fact that he was training was a good sign – Wentz seems completely cured of the back injury and torn ACL that ended each of his last two seasons. Without the hug and free to take part in all the exercises, Wentz was very accurate and seemed very comfortable in the pocket.

One of his best passes of the day was to shake forward Zach Ertz on a pass of about 25 meters over two defenders and put it in Ertz 's hands. Wentz followed that pass with a laser on receiver DeSean Jackson over the center of the field, and Jackson did the rest with a touchdown.

Yes, these are OTAs, and until tablets arrive, it's always fair to be a bit skeptical about what's going on in May. Still, Wentz can only return one day at a time. On Tuesday, he looked exactly like a player who already enjoys MVP's success in 2019.

Brandon Graham: As for the return seasons, Eagles defender Brandon Graham – who got a new contract for the off season – also looks set to have a monster in 2019. Graham looks to to be in great shape, which is well seen the impact of his foot. injury from the last offseason had on him. Graham had to disintegrate all season, which made him miss most of the training camp. Although he did not have a bad season, he was not the same player as he was in 2017. Graham has clearly worked on this season. The Eagles are in dire need of a big season from Graham and he seems to be about to give it to them.

DeSean Jackson: Jackson took advantage of Wentz 'great day, the receiver got the ball again and again in the team exercises. Jackson looks just as fast and smooth as when he first played with the Eagles. The vanity of the ways the Eagles used Jackson was interesting to see. Jackson caught short passes, pass-screens, passes over the center and, of course, was targeted.

Wentz and Jackson bring these representatives together at the end of the off season is huge for the Eagles. Timing is everything that happens between a quarterback and a receiver, especially one like Jackson, who will probably be sent deep enough. Jackson and Wentz spent a lot of time exercising between exercises, talking and reviewing previous plays. These conversations could be more important than actual production in the field, and the fact that they bring so many representatives together in May will really help this coming team in September.

Sidney JonesBefore training, Eagles defensive coordinator Jim Schwartz said it was going to be a big season for cornerback Sidney Jones, who has just finished a disappointing second season with the team. Jones played with the starters on Tuesday and the good news is that he looked healthy and fit all through the practice. The bad news is that he was beaten for a touchdown during team exercises by rookie JJ Arcega-Whiteside, who beat him in a 50/50 pass in the corner of the end zone.

Miles Sanders: Half-offensively Miles Sanders did not train last week. This was again the case on Tuesday. He ran on the field about 30 minutes after the start of the workout, with a hat. Sanders lacks these reps is not ideal, especially since he is trying to start his adaptation to the NFL. The availability of Sanders during the rest of the off-season leading to OTAs certainly deserves surveillance.

Clayton Thorson: If all goes as planned this season, Eagles rookie quarterback Clayton Thorson will not be on the field. This is probably a good thing considering some of the decisions that he made on Tuesday. Yet, the more I see Thorson in person, the easier it is to understand why the Eagles wrote it. Thorson is tall, has a strong arm and throws a beautiful ball. The strength of Thorson's arms is evident when you see him throwing, especially with respect to Cody Kessler's arm. It will be interesting to see the evolution of Thorson during the year. The tools can be there to turn into a backup of very high quality.
