BALTIMORE (WJZ) – Recent reports show that teenagers from other parts of the country are being treated for lung lesions that, according to doctors, could be caused by a vaping.

Patients aged 16 to 18 years were admitted to hospitals in other states for lung lesions and breathing difficulties.

"There is some data among middle-aged smokers who say that e-cigarettes can help you stop smoking. In youth however, the train goes in the opposite direction, "said Dr. Oscar Taube, pediatrician at Sinai Hospital.

While vaping products are marketed to young people, many long-term smokers have decided to reduce their nicotine consumption.

Stephen Moore said he smoked for 26 years and tried to switch to e-cigarettes, but they did not give him the same satisfaction.

He said that he knew it was a bad habit to which he was addicted, but he could not seem to stop smoking cigarettes. He advised young people never to start.

René Beauchamp stated that she had been smoking for over 20 years and was steaming a few years ago as a result of health problems.

"This vape helped me a lot when I was looking for a cigarette after eating or after certain things. Some things catch you a cigarette, but now, I do not even vape, because I buy vapes without nicotine, "she said.

The doctors said the other chemicals present in vaping are not regulated by the federal government, but that they should be.

"They can be carcinogenic and can cause all kinds of damage," said Dr. Taube.

According to a recent report showing that the number of lung lesions in teens who sweat is on the rise, the American Vaping Association issued a statement in which it states:

"With about 10 million adults spraying nicotine each month without major problems, it seems much more likely that products causing lung damage contain THC or illegal drugs, not nicotine,
