Casting of "The Suicide Squad": Director James Gunn reveals that Margo Robbie is back in the cast of stars

Gunn announced that Margot Robbie's Harley Quinn would be back in the 2021 movie starring Jai Courtney as captain Boomerang, Joel Kinnaman in Colonel Rick Flag and Viola Davis, who is also returning to her role as Amanda Waller.

The director has released a Friday image on social media with the names of the actors who will play the villainous characters of the film's notorious comics.

"Do not be too attached," he writes.

Among the 24 stars of the new movie are many new members such as Idris Elba, John Cena and Pete Davidson of Saturday Night Live.

While Robbie's Harley Quinn – a deranged hand-woman and a new Joker girlfriend – will be back, the future of the Joker in Gunn's film is not clear.

Jared Leto, who played the role of the Joker in the movie "Suicide Squad" in 2016, is not part of the director's composition, as Will Smith, who described the murderer Deadshot, the exact murderer.

Gunn, who had previously directed "The Guardians of the Galaxy", also wrote the new film opus of naughty comics. The film should be released in August 2021.

The studio behind "The Suicide Squad", Warner Bros., is, like CNN, a unit of WarnerMedia.
