For $ 20 you get three Game Boy Advance titles and Super Nintendo’s Dracula X

[Update: Castlevania Advance Collection was shown at today’s Nintendo Direct and then not-so-stealthily released on the eShop. It’s out now for $19.99, and the compilation includes three GBA games and a bonus title, as rumored: Circle of the Moon, Harmony of Dissonance, Aria of Sorrow, and Dracula X (a peculiar SNES release). This collection has regional variants (Japanese, American, European), an encyclopedia, a music player, and the ability to quick-save, quick-load, and rewind time “for a few seconds for a second chance.”]

[Update 2: This isn’t a timed Switch exclusive! Konami also released Castlevania Advance Collection on PS4, PC (Steam), and Xbox One. I see M2 credited, I buy.]

More fuel was added to the ongoing fire which is the Castlevania Advanced Collection – a collection of classic adventures that raises its head time and time again although it has not yet been officially confirmed by the publisher Konami.

While several video game rating websites have apparently confirmed the title’s existence, a recent update added to the Taiwan Digital Game Rating Committee’s own list added a fourth game to the three previously mentioned. As spotted by ResetEra users, joining 2001 Castlevania: the circle of the moon, 2002 Castlevania: Harmony of Dissonance, and 2003 Castlevania: Aria of Sorrow will be Castlevania: Dracula X, the 1995 SNES redesign of the classic 1993 PC Engine Rondo de Sang.

Dracula X reworked the majestic original PC Engine to better fit the SNES audience high on the excellent Super Castlevania IV. Not only are Rondo of bloodcharacters, stages and boss fights have been rearranged, but several elements of Dracula X itself fell prey to nervous North American censors, ultimately making the Japanese edition Super Famicom a sought-after item in the booming import scene of the ’90s.

Despite Konami’s firm stance on the situation, it is believed that Castlevania Advanced Collection will launch on PS4, PC, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It’s been some time since the collection originally appeared on game review sites, so hopefully an official word will be released soon …

… I mean, there is a Nintendo Direct taking place tonight.
