Cathie Wood: Ark Investment Management moves to Florida

Ark Investment Management is permanently closing its New York office and moving to St. Petersburg, Florida, the company said on Wednesday.

Wood’s flagship exchange-traded fund, Ark Innovation, jumped nearly 150% in 2020, making her a Wall Street superstar.

Wood does things differently and she focuses on the laser technology industry. So maybe it’s no surprise that she is leaving Wall Street.

Ark said he believed the relocation “will advance his business as it grows and will continue to redefine the asset management industry,” as well as “increase collaboration between and among focus-driven communities. ‘innovation”.

“Ark is not a traditional Wall Street asset management company, and we look forward to breaking the mold further by moving to St. Petersburg, a city that invests in technology, science and innovation,” Wood added.

This year has not been as good for Wood as the last. The Innovation ETF is down 3.5% heading into the fourth quarter, despite a boiling market for technology with the Nasdaq rising more than 14% so far in 2021.
