"The King's Speech" Oscar winning Tom Hooper is behind the scenes for this film adaptation of the musical Andrew Lloyd Webber.

"Cats" did not finish production until March 30, but that did not stop the future film adaptation of the musical Andrew Lloyd Webber from making a first impression at CinemaCon during the presentation of Universal Pictures. The studio unveiled some of the first images of the Christmas marquee, which were co-written and directed by Oscar winner, The King's Speech, Tom Hooper. The filmmaker has experience in musicals for film. He directed Universal's Les Miserables, which opened for Christmas 2012 and brought in $ 441 million worldwide and eight Oscar nominations. Universal surely hopes that "Cats" follows a similar path.

Universal did not show the footage of the film, but played a backstage staging the casting talk of musical adaptation. A majority of the images show casting during dance rehearsals, including Taylor Swift. The big advantage of the filming sequence was to see actors wearing VFX points on their faces and combinations of motion capture, because special effects will be used to turn them into cats. At this point, it is unclear to what extent motion capture will be used because no sequence has been projected. The VFX will add fur to the actors and give their faces a more feline look. The video says the film uses "digital fur technology to create the most perfect coverage possible."

The video also confirmed that the size of the movie will be at the size of a cat. The designers of the production built the oversized set in order to make the actors appear smaller and therefore the actual size of the cats. The idea was not only to properly adapt the film, but also to give the audience a sense of the magic of childhood (when one is small, the world seems bigger). The cast also teased the film has a timely message of inclusion. Jennifer Hudson appeared at CinemaCon after the beginning of the sequences to perform the song "Memory", sung by her character Grizabella.

"Cats" takes place in one night and articulates around a group of felines called jellies. The group must decide which cat will climb to a place called Heaviside Layer and return to a new life. Webber's musical has been adapted from T. S. Eliot's "Book of Practical Cats" and has become a huge success on Broadway and in the West End of London. "Cats" spent 21 years in London and 18 years on Broadway, becoming the fourth longest-running musical in Broadway history.

The actors of the film include Jennifer Hudson, Taylor Swift, Idris Elba, Ian McKellen, Judi Dench, James Corden, Rebel Wilson and Jason Derulo. Universal will open the month of December "Cats" in the cinemas of the country.
