New details have been revealed after the tragedy that befell the old Versace mansion.
On July 14, Miami Beach Police and Fire Department located two bodies inside the property now known as The Villa Casa Casuarina Hotel, in the same location. Gianni Versace was murdered.
Based on the incident report obtained by E! News, the preliminary investigation revealed that the discovery was an apparent double suicide. Now, the Miami-Dade County Medical Examiner’s Department is sharing its findings.
According to the investigation report reviewed by E! News, housekeeping staff unlocked the Villa Suite after a customer could not check out. Shortly after, a cleaning lady found two unconscious men on a bed.
Police found the deceased with a self-inflicted gunshot wound to the head. “The deceased was observed to hold a handgun,” the report said. “The unresponsive male next to him also had a gun in his hand. Two notes were left at the scene.”
