CLEVELAND – Cavaliers guard Kevin Porter Jr. is set to be traded or released after Friday’s explosion in the Cavs’ locker room, the Athletic has learned from several sources with direct knowledge of the events.
Porter, 20, who hasn’t played this season due to personal issues, got angry when he walked into the locker room and realized the team had given Taurean their old locker Prince, which had been acquired in a successful operation Wednesday.
Sources said Porter, whose locker was moved against the wall where the younger bench end players reside, started screaming and at one point threw food away.
Sources said general manager Koby Altman walked into the locker room and confronted Porter, and the player remained combative with his boss. The Cavs spent the weekend trying to trade him.
Coach JB Bickerstaff heard the commotion in his office locker room and walked in, shocked and disgusted by what he heard.
Porter was involved in a car accident …
