Rep. Madison Cawthorn says he maintains his criticism of Dr Anthony Fauci after the doctor appeared on Fox News and berated Cawthorn’s suggestion that legal action should be taken against Fauci.

“Dr Fauci broke his oath,” Cawthorn told Fox News. “Not only his oath to Congress, but his Hippocratic Oath as a physician, to do no harm. I stand by my statements and justice will be served.”

Earlier in the week, Cawthorn called Fauci a “punk” and “pawn” of the Chinese Communist government while accusing him of lying to Congress.

Fauci responded during a Fox News interview with Neil Cavuto and request, “where do you come from talking about criminal things and conspiring with [the CCP]? “

Cawthorn explained to Fox News the specific laws he believes Fauci violated after testifying to Congress under oath that no US-funded “office-pay” research at the Wuhan lab was, what several Republicans, including Senator Rand Paul, believe to be a lie.

“Sections 1621 and 1001 of Title 18 of the US Code are the two relevant legal standards at play here,” Cawthorn said. “Article 1621 states that anyone who” willfully and contrary to such an oath declares or subscribes to an important matter which he does not believe to be true “is guilty of perjury and shall be liable to a fine or to a penalty of imprisonment for up to five years, or both. that “anyone who, in any matter within the jurisdiction of the executive, legislative or judicial branch of the government of the United States, knowingly and willfully” falsifies or withholds information, including prior to an investigation by a congressional committee, may also be fined or imprisoned for five years. ” “

Senator Paul agreed with Cawthorn’s conclusion and filed a criminal complaint against Dr Fauci based on reports that the US government spent money on research into the gain of duty at the Wuhan laboratory in question.

“Well, I think it’s important to know that Dr Fauci has a personal interest in hiding any relationship or responsibility for anything that is done in the Wuhan lab,” Paul said on Fox News earlier this week

“Without a doubt, the evidence we presented to the committee yesterday shows that the NIH was funding research in Wuhan. We showed the exact numeric series of numbers that go with the grant numbers. So yes, they were funding the Wuhan lab. . ”

Fauci has continued to categorically deny having distorted the functional research gain before Congress.

“I have never regretted telling the truth or doing my job,” Fauci said on Friday.
