Oakland Raiders cornerback, Gareon Conley, was trailed off the field on a stretcher in the third quarter of the 24-16 win over the Denver Broncos on Monday night.

The team quickly ruled out for the rest of the match due to a neck injury.

Conley attempted a tackle on Broncos running back Royce Freeman when his Raiders teammate Johnathan Abram attempted a tackle on the RB. Abram hit Freeman with his helmet, but the security leg inadvertently hit Conley just above his helmet while the breaker was on the ground. Conley stayed on the field for about 10 minutes, at the instigation of the coaches. He left the field on a back board and congratulated the crowd on his departure.

Abram was called for personal foul on the game for establishing contact with Freeman with his helmet.

Conley left the match after playing 38 shots and recorded four tackles against compatriot Daryl Worley. Trayvon Mullen took over in his absence. Oakland was 14-3 at the time of Conley's injury

A first round pick in 2017, Conley missed most of his rookie season with a tibial injury, but played 15 games last year, recording 37 tackles, 15 assists and three interceptions.

Around The NFL will have more on this story when updates on Conley's status will be provided.
