CBS confirmed a major upheaval in its press service stating that Norah O Donnell and will move out of CBS this morning assume new roles within the network.

In a series of early tweets and television announcements, CBS announced that O'Donnell would become the new editor and editor-in-chief of CBS Evening News while John Dickerson will become a correspondent for 60 minutes.

"I'm thinking of the legacy and history of CBS News and it's incredibly humbling to accept this post," O'Donnell said. "I'm going to give everything I have, and at CBS News, I do not stand on the shoulders of my colleagues, they carry me on the back. It's a great moment. "

Gayle King will stay in his morning slot with new co-hosts Anthony Mason and Tony Dokoupil. We do not know what will happen with the current CBS Evening News presenter Jeff Glor, but president of CBS News Susan Zirinsky indicates that the network is looking for ways to keep it on board.

"We are grateful to Jeff Glor for his award-winning work and commitment to his colleagues and viewers," said Zirinsky. "During the transition from Evening News to Washington, we discuss opportunities for Jeff to stay with CBS News and continue to provide the same reliable and reliable reporting that he has been offering for 12 years."
