CBS Evening News executive producer Jay Shaylor is stepping down amid a reorganization of the show’s management, sources at Axios say.

Details: The departure was abruptly announced Friday morning during a team call that Shaylor, formerly CNN executive producer. He had been working at CBS since the end of 2019.
- Sources tell Axios it’s part of a larger management reshuffle at CBS Evening News. Last week, the network named Alturo Rhymes and Elizabeth Turner co-lead broadcast producers.
The big picture: CBS Evening News has seen many changes over the past few years. Norah O’Donnell took over as the show’s anchor in 2019.
- The show moved from New York to Washington, DC that year and changed direction alongside the redesign.
