“Young Sheldon” has been renewed by CBS for an additional three years, bringing the comedy series into the 2023-24 season.
The show created by Chuck Lorre, which is a spinoff from his beloved “Big Bang Theory,” stars Iain Armitage in the kid version of Jim Parsons’ Sheldon Cooper.
The series first premiered on CBS in September 2017.
“Under the skillful leadership of Chuck Lorre and Steve Molaro, this superb cast and talented writers really brought these wonderful characters to life,” Kelly Kahl, president of CBS Entertainment said in a press release.

“Young Sheldon” is the most watched comedy on television, averaging over 9.6 million viewers each week. It also stars Zoe Perry, Lance Barber, Montana Jordan, Raegan Revord, and Annie Potts.
