"I never knew that there was as much love as I love him. So it's encouraging that so many people love and understand it, "said Margaret Boutte, 88, of Hussle.
Boutte says that his broken heart finds comfort in knowing that Hussle has touched so many people.
"I hope these young people will understand the message and lead a better life – will lead a better life," Boutte said.

Boutte helped raise Hussle, whose real name is Ermias Asghedom. The 33-year-old Grammy-nominated rapper spoke about his grandmother in an interview with Pat Harvey, presenter of CBS2, before this year's Grammy Awards.
"I was raised by my mother and my grandmother. She was very keen on keeping a family together and loving, "he said.

Boutte was at home on Sunday when Hussle's brother, Samiel, received the call from Hussle himself and told him that he had been shot.
"He got the call and he left so quickly. He never did that in the morning. Right away, I called her mother. I said "Angel, something must have happened." I said, "Samiel got up, he did not take a shower, he got out of here so fast," she said.
Samiel was racing for the Marathon – a clothing store opened by Hussle in 2017 – the place where he had been shot several times in broad daylight. Samiel would be there for the last breath of his brother.
"Sammy got up early enough to help her brother. Erias knew that Sammy was there before his death, "said Boutte.

Hussle's killer Eric Holder, 29, ran away, but not for long. The incumbent was arrested Tuesday at Bellflower, just 20 miles from the shooting and brought to court Thursday.
The motive for the assassination is not clear, but police said the two men had a dispute before the shooting.
Boutte had only these words for the murderer accused of his grandson.
"I pray for him too. I hope that he will not be killed in detention. Have enough time to ask God for forgiveness, "she said. "I am a Catholic, I believe in prayer and I pray for him. It was a young and ignorant situation and I hope I am sorry for what he has done. "
The family hopes to plan a large memorial that can accommodate thousands of people, as well as a private service.
