But the president of the FEC said that the White House had not responded to her requests.

She said she had never received any information regarding evidence of electoral fraud, adding that local officials had received none either and were offended by the claims.

"These are serious allegations … but if there is no evidence, then these things really should not be said," Weintraub said.

A spokesman for the White House did not immediately respond to comments.
