Departure from Piers Morgan Tuesday from Hello Great Britain was abrupt and, it turns out, permanent.
He stormed the set in an argument with co-host Alex Beresford during a conversation about Meghan Markle and Prince Harry’s hit interview with Oprah Winfrey, which aired in Britain on Monday.
Beresford accused Morgan of criticizing Markle so much because she ended her friendship with him after meeting the prince. Morgan then returned to his seat – temporarily – but ITV announced later today that it had decided to leave for good.
His departure comes after Ofcom, the UK’s media regulator, launched an investigation into the comments he made about Markle on Monday’s edition of the morning show. More than 41,000 people complained about what he said at the time, mainly because he did not believe his claims that she was ignored when seeking help with her mental health.
“I’m sorry, I don’t believe a word she said, Meghan Markle,” Morgan had said. “I wouldn’t believe it if she read me a weather report.”
On Tuesday, he admitted that it was not for him to question what Markle had said about his own sanity.
It was a whirlwind of events and spectators, including celebrities, had a lot to say.
Sharon Osbourne, who sat alongside Morgan when they both tried America has talent, supported her friend during the co-animation The speech.
She called him a royalist. “You are fighting for your queen and your country,” she said.
Osbourne believes Morgan has been “terribly” hurt by everything that has happened between him and Markle.
On social media, she wrote: “I’m with you. I’m by your side.”
. @piersmorgan I am with you. I stand by you. People forget that you are being paid for your opinion and that you are just telling your truth.

Actress Jameela Jamil, who has opened up about her own mental health issues, said criticism of Morgan prompted her to consider suicide last year.
TW: suicide
I almost killed myself a year ago because of Piers Morgan’s relentless campaign of lies and hate against me last February. I’m glad I’m still alive today for many reasons. But watching him leave GMB today is right up there and makes me feel: pic.twitter.com/reygXIMhP9

Meanwhile, Sunny Hostin, co-host on View, disapproved of Morgan’s actions on his own show. “Watching him walk away like that, isn’t it interesting that Piers Morgan can get away from a slightly uncomfortable situation,” she said, “but Prince Harry and Duchess Meghan can’t getting away from more than a slightly uncomfortable situation, but one that put his sanity and his life in danger. “(His comments begin at 3:08 a.m.)
Chelsea Handler echoed this point.
It must be okay that Piers Morgan leaves a situation where he feels uncomfortable but criticizes a black woman when she does the same. Qwhite interesting.

Meanwhile, one of America’s best-known morning TV personalities, Today meteorologist Al Roker, was also not sad to see Morgan leave.
Actor George Takei joked that Morgan had “canceled” himself.
Piers Morgan apparently canceled. Cancel the culture!
