The next time we see Jaylen Brown on a basketball court, it’ll likely be for the Boston Celtics’ regular season opener on October 20.

Celtics head coach Ime Udoka told reporters on Saturday that Brown is likely to miss the remainder of the preseason due to health and safety protocols. The All-Star swingman tested positive for COVID-19 on Friday, is asymptomatic and is in quarantine.

Brown lost a record 25 points in 26 minutes in the Celtics’ opener against the Orlando Magic. He continues to work his way towards left wrist surgery which prematurely ended his 2020-21 season.

Romeo Langford will replace Brown in the Celtics’ starting lineup for Saturday’s preseason game against the Toronto Raptors at TD Garden. Kick-off is 7 p.m. ET on NBC Sports Boston.
