ECB and BOE speakers are on the agenda today
Here is the list of things to watch in European trading:
08:30 GMT – Christine Lagarde attends a hearing in the European Parliament
As a presidential candidate for the ECB, Lagarde will answer questions from legislators before the plenary vote on her candidacy. His appearance will take place before the Committee on Economic and Monetary Affairs, which will vote after a recommendation (the Parliament as a whole will decide on this issue only on 16 and 19 September). All this is however a mere formality, but see if it will have something remarkable to say on the monetary / fiscal policy.

Lane will deliver a lecture at the MMF's fiftieth anniversary conference, where he may discuss the economy and monetary policy, as well as financial issues.
13:15 GMT – BoE Governor Mark Carney Speaks at Parliamentary Hearing
14:00 GMT – Mersch, ECB, attends a hearing before the European Parliament
Similar to Lagarde above, Mersch will answer legislators' questions when he is appointed Vice-Chairman of the ECB's Supervisory Board. I would not expect many relevant comments from the audience as such.
16:30 GMT – Vice President of the ECB, Luis de Guindos, expresses in Frankfurt
De Guindos will deliver the Keynote Address at the US-EU Symposium organized by PIFS. I think it will be more important than anything else in international financial relations, so there should not be much in terms of monetary policy.
Fedspeak will also be on the agenda in the coming day and I will explain it in a separate bill later in the day.
