On July 18, 2019, it will be the most important year for fans of the 2020 Chevrolet Corvette C8, the mid-engine version of the famous American supercar that will attempt to conquer the world ruled by Italians.
However, the real fans of the brand were treated to a treat on the last day of the Michelin NCM Bash. In the circular alley of the National Corvette Museum, the Corvette C8, still heavily camouflaged, quickly stepped through the doorway, satisfying the fans' gaze.
When we used the word "fast", we were pretty serious because it took less than a minute to introduce the new version of the Corvette. It may seem like a low blow to increase its popularity, but it really is not the case. The appearance of NCM Bash should be a big problem for big fans of Corvette, as shown in the video provided at the beginning of this page.
In addition, you will notice that the fanatics of Vette were already present at the roundabout at the approach of the C8. Indeed, according to corvetteblogger.com, it was announced during the event that the Corvette C8 would make a surprise appearance at the event around noon.
Our friends from MidEngineCorvetteForum.com were also present for the event and they were ready to capture the supercar in front of the camera. The high resolution photo gallery above is provided by the forum and Craig Marcho, and is undoubtedly the most detailed look we have had from the car to the present. We also suggest you visit the forum for additional images.
Unfortunately, it seems that Chevrolet was expecting more than a few cameras, because this particular prototype is riddled with fake body panels under camouflage coatings, especially on the sides. The lateral vents are exaggerated, but this observation suggests that the nose of the C8 is lower than the ground and is more centrally located.
There is not much official information on the C8 yet, but it is assumed that Chevy will be using a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8 producing more than 460 horsepower. This makes a lot of sense given the solid exhaust note the car made.
As mentioned, the Corvette C8 should be launched on July 18, 2019. Most of the details will be revealed by that date, but for now, keep an eye open for more on the upcoming supercar.
