Cezar Ferreria’s PFL season ended in the most miserable way after apparently injuring his hamstrings during the first kick he threw in a midweights semifinal fight. heavy against Marthin Hamlet at PFL 9.
Ferreira’s reaction to the injury was immediate when he grabbed his right leg – which he balanced himself on while throwing a left front kick – and fell to the mat. Hamlet pounced on with punches, but the fight was already over, with the referee stepping in to save Ferreira just 13 seconds into the first round.
Check out the ending sequence below.
Ferreira was lying on the canvas for several moments after the fight was called off. The winner of Ultimate Fighter Brazil 1 started his PFL season with a meteoric knockout from Nick Roehrick, but then relinquished a decision to Chris Camozzi.
On Twitter, Camozzi took aim at his former opponent, accusing him of intentionally losing the fight in order to get a salary. Ferreira and his team were not immediately available for comment.
Eh. It’s a Cezar dive. I saw him at the weigh-in, black and purple leg. My coaches have seen it too. He showed up for a show paycheck @PFLMMA I can’t believe they allowed him to fight

The PFL 9 main card was delayed for over an hour on ESPN2 when a high school football game between Milton and North Cobb went on for a long time. Hamlet qualifies for the final of the light heavyweight tournament. The Norwegian fighter wished his opponent good luck, as did the promotion.
