Chapter 2: How does the distribution of the suite compare to the original Losers club?

Fans finally got their first glimpse of It Chapter Two thanks to the release of the first trailer. In addition to presenting one of the most terrifying scenes of Stephen King's original novel, this trailer shows us what the Losers' Club members look like 27 years later.

Did director Andy Muschietti choose the right actors to interpret the old versions of these brave heroes? You are the judge. Here is a breakdown of each major character in chapter two and how their appearance compares to more recent versions. Check out our slideshow or scroll down to see the entire band.

Bill Denbrough

James McAvoy plays the oldest Bill Denbrough. Bill grew to become a successful novelist even as he was trying to forget his dark past. In other words, he is your typical protagonist of Stephen King. The trailer clearly shows that Bill is still very haunted by the death of his younger brother Billy almost three decades ago.

Bev Marsh

Jessica Chastain figured prominently on many fans' wish list for playing the oldest Bev Marsh, and the result is not disappointing in this regard. Returning to Derry is a particularly painful experience for Bev, given his father's abuse. Unfortunately, Bev's blues testify to the fact that she has not escaped the cycle of torment, even in adulthood. Although now a successful fashion designer, she is imprisoned in an unhappy and abusive marriage.

Richie Tozier

Between the hair and the mandatory glasses, Bill Hader is a deadly look-alike for Richie of Finn Wolfhard. Richie has been used wisely as a DJ in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, even traveling the country was not enough to keep Richie off Derry.

Ben Hanscom

Jay Ryan plays the oldest Ben Hanscom. It may not be the spitting image of actor Jeremy Ray Taylor, but that is the goal. Ben abandoned his childhood and grew up to become a slender and prosperous architect. Like the rest of his friends, Ben is still haunted by the trauma of his past.

Mike Hanlon

Isaiah Mustafa plays the oldest Mike Hanlon and he looks almost strangely like the young Mike of Chosen Jacobs. Mike is the only member of the Losers' Club to stay in Derry, where he holds a position of City Librarian. It's Mike who reminds his friends to finally confront and destroy It's evil once and for all.

Eddie Kaspbrak

James Ransone plays the older version of Eddie in the sequel, although we only have a glimpse of the character in the trailer. Eddie now runs a successful limousine business, though, like Bev, he eventually married someone a bit too much like his dominant parent.

Stan Uris

Andy Bean (pictured here in Power) plays the old version of Stan in the sequel, even though we do not see the character in the trailer. Fans of the novel can probably guess why. Stan is perhaps the best of his childhood friends, becoming a partner of a large accounting firm in Atlanta. However, he seems to be the only one to have kept all his memories of confrontation, which makes the prospect of returning to Derry particularly frightening.

Henry Bowers

The lost club members have almost as much to fear from adult Henry Bowers as from Pennywise. Teach Grant (seen here in Gunless) will play the oldest version of the group's bully, his childhood. Henry has spent most of the last 27 years locked up in a psychiatric facility and is only too keen on revenge once it frees him.

Pennywise / It

Pennywise, the dancing clown, is the character who will not show his age in the sequel. Bill Skarsgård resumes his role and the trailer shows that his appearance has not changed in 27 years. However, the monstrous entity known as It will take on other forms besides Pennywise this time, including the alluring Madame Kersh.
