The 1997 world champion, Jacques Villeneuve, think things could go wrong at Ferrari between Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc.
Scuderia has already announced that it will give priority to Vettel over 21-year-old Monegasques in order to optimize their efforts for the title as much as possible.
But Villeneuve thinks that Leclerc can still cause problems of potential and pace, even if he is initially ranked as number two.
"We will have to wait and see what happens," said Villeneuve at Corriere della Sera, Italy.
"If he has a good start, it could unintentionally create a mess with Vettel. As with Ricciardo [at Red Bull] few years ago.
"In theory, Vettel was the favorite, but things can sometimes go against your psychological level and you do not know why.
"He knows that if things do not go well, the future of Ferrari will not be his, but Leclerc's, the pressure is completely on him.
"Seb has everything to lose, Charles has nothing [to lose]. "
Leclerc will participate for the first time in the Ferrari SF90 in pre-season testing on Tuesday at the Circuit de Catalunya, replacing Vettel, who made a colossal relay during his opening day at work.
