Last month, Apple TV + became the new home for the beloved Peanuts holiday specials. This sparked an uproar from viewers accustomed to tapping into network television every year. Apple has offered every show to broadcast for free for a handful of days, but that hasn’t stopped online petitions from garnering hundreds of thousands of signatures.
Apple on Wednesday bowed to the backlash, announcing it had partnered with PBS for commercial-free shows of “A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving” (November 22) and “A Charlie Brown Christmas” (December 13). .
Both specials will also be available for free for three days on Apple TV + (November 25-27 for “Thanksgiving” and December 11-13 for “Christmas”). For subscribers, special offers will be available from November 18. and December 4, respectively.
