Charlie Hunnam Featured in "Shantaram" – Apple TV Plus Series Ordered

Charlie Hunnam returns to television via Apple's new streaming service. the Son of anarchy alum goes topline Shantaram, a recently commissioned drama series at Apple TV +, by our sister site Deadline.

According to Gregory's 2003 novel David Roberts, Shantaram – in development at Apple since June 2018 – is centered on Hunnam's Lin, a man who seeks to get lost in the bustling city of Bombay while he is fleeing from an Australian prison. Cut off from his family and friends, Lin finds new life in slums, bars and the underworld of India.

Eric Warren singer (American Hustle) will write the scripts and will produce with Justin Kurzel (Assassin's Creed), which is configured to direct the first two episodes. ShantaramThe first season will be spread over 10 installments.

The project will be Hunnam's first TV show since the end of the film Son of anarchy in 2014, after playing biker Jax Teller for seven seasons. Since then, he has appeared in films such as The lost city of Z and King Arthur: legend of the sword.
