The start of the 2020 Stanley Cup Playoffs is just a few days away.
The NHL round robin and qualifying round ended Sunday, preparing for all eight games of the first round.
The qualifying round was full of surprises. Four of the eight series have resulted in upheavals, including the No.12 seeds of the Eastern Conference and Western Conference winning their clashes against the No.5 seeds.

The round robin was also not lacking in unexpected results. The Boston Bruins won the Presidents’ Trophy with the league’s best regular season record, but they finished lower in the Eastern round robin standings after three straight losses. The defending St. Louis Blues champion had the best record in the West during the regular season and also struggled in the round robin with a fourth place finish (1-2-1 record).
Could we see a surprise in the first round involving one or both of the Stanley Cup finalists from last season? Anything is possible in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
