She has been on vacation on the Greek Islands with her family for the past few days.
And Charlize’s trip coincides with her birthday, so her friends threw her an ’80s prom murder mystery’ birthday party aboard a huge yacht off the coast of Greece.
The Atomic Blonde actress, who turned 46 on Saturday, looked cheerful and young in a relaxed pink T-shirt while taking photos with longtime friend Beth Kono on the ship’s deck.

Charlize teamed the pink “Birthday Girl” graphic t-shirt with a pair of frayed jeans.
She had several strands of colorful beads around her neck and wore purple bows in her short blonde hair.
The Oscar-winning actress paired the colorful ’80s theme with purple mesh fingerless gloves, and she relaxed with a glass of white wine.
Kono, who started out as Charlize’s assistant before graduating to produce several films with her, wore a blonde wig and blue bow with similar baby blue fingerless gloves and a blue sequin off-the-shoulder dress.

Later on Saturday, Charlize shared one of the photos her friend took with her 6.6 million Instagram followers.
“Well, I never got to go to prom, but this year for my birthday my friends decided to change that,” she captioned.
“I love these humans more than words can describe. Only they could know that an 80s murder mystery party on a ship is my literal dream birthday. What a family, what a night.

A follow-up photo showed Charlize in the main cabin surrounded by her friends, all wearing stereotypical cartoonish outfits paying homage to the mostly imagined 1980s.
The celebrations included her two daughters, Jackson, nine, and August, five, Jackson standing behind her and August doing the splits in a fuchsia tutu while holding a giant inflatable cell phone.
Charlize’s mother, Gerda Jacoba Aletta Maritz, also joined them on the birthday trip.
While Mad Max: Fury Road Star is often deprived of her family, she didn’t mind sharing a fun slow-motion clip of her and her daughters diving off the side of the yacht earlier in the week.
“Me and my daughters 4 lives,” she wrote gently in the caption.
Charlize adopted her eldest, Jackson, in 2012, then her youngest, August, in 2015.

Speaking to Elle in 2018 about how she became a mother, Charlize admitted, “I struggled mentally throughout the adoption process. Some of my lowest points in my life were about the first time that I submitted a case; it really had an emotional impact.
“There were so many situations that didn’t work out, and you got attached and had all your hopes, and then you were just crushed,” she explained.
Charlize, who said she had a “strong need to be a mom,” admits she couldn’t have done it without her mother Gerda, who she says is co-parenting with her.
She said: “I knew my mom would have to help me if I had to do it as a single parent. Not to admit that she is the co-parent of my children would be a lie.
