NASCAR Cup Series 4 championship contender Chase Elliott will start from behind the field in Sunday’s Season 500 Finals (3 p.m. ET, NBC, MRN, Sirius XM) after his No.9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet has twice failed the pre-race inspection at Phoenix Raceway.

Elliott was to start from the Busch Pole position and lead the field to the green. Instead, Elliott will revisit the rhythm laps. Other title prospects Joey Logano are lined up second, followed by Brad Keselowski and Denny Hamlin.
