Chelsea Handler is not on board with former Minneapolis cop Derek Chauvin who was on trial in the May 2020 arrest and death of George Floyd.
The liberal comedian and talk show host made her position clear on Tuesday when the trial of Chauvin – who was seen on video holding his knee to Floyd’s neck for nearly nine minutes during the May 25 arrest – continued into its second day. .
“So pathetic that there is a lawsuit to prove that Derek Chauvin killed George Floyd when there is a video of him doing it,” Handler, 46, wrote as the trial resumed.
Chauvin, 45, faces second and third degree murder and manslaughter charges.

She subsequently rendered her judgment in response to a tweet on social media which supported our nation’s need for a trial process “or our justice system would be even more chaotic than it already is.”
However, the funny woman responded to the social media user in a follow-up tweet“Maybe we skip the trials when there is audio and video footage of the murder.”

Handler was immediately criticized for her remarks, as many of those who responded to her tweet said it was not in the best interests of democracy.
“No. Every American has the right to a trial by a jury made up of their peers,” one Twitter user said. responded. “This is essential in a functioning democracy.”

Others argued that a revised system like the one proposed by Handler would actually be worse for the justice system and give too much power to the system as well as the police.
“Ah, yes. Let’s just let the government decide what evidence meets the threshold to skip a trial and let them convict however they want without questioning,” wrote a commentator. “If you think the system is biased, you should be smart enough to know that you don’t want to give this system less transparency.

Another respondent reasoned with the former Netflix star and explained that each case has to be handled individually and therefore, “you still have to follow due process.”
“I think the idea is that you never know when there will be a case where the result seems 100% obvious due to strong evidence, and yet this is the rare case where something has been missed by a one way or another To make sure you never go unnoticed you should always follow due process ” the tweet bed.

Handler has been outspoken for years about his view of the world. She stepped up her focus on political advocacy after her Netflix series “Chelsea” was canceled in 2017.
Much of Handler’s spontaneous remarks took place amid Donald Trump’s presidential campaign and his eventual tenure in the country’s top office.

Quickly moving on to some of Handler’s more recent anecdotes regarding his political stance, the comedian facetiously stated that rapper 50 Cent was no longer her “favorite ex-boyfriend” simply because he was publicly considering voting for Trump in the 2020 presidential election, citing Joe Biden draft tax plan.

“Hey damn! I’ll pay your taxes in exchange for you coming to your senses,” Handler written at 50 Cent at the time. “Luckily! Black lives matter. It’s fucking you! Remember?”
Handler has also openly supported Governor Andrew Cuomo, although she has been silent on the New York politician’s recent scandals.

The second day of Tuesday’s murder trial included further testimony from Donald Williams, a wrestler who said he was trained in MMA fights, including strangulation.
Williams began his testimony on Monday, when he described the restraint allegedly used by Chauvin as “blood strangulation”.
At the stand, Williams endured the tears as he continued with his description of his story, remembering how Floyd’s eyes “slowly rolled back”.

“You could see he was in tremendous pain,” Williams continued. “You could see he was trying to breathe for air, and trying to be able to breathe while he was there. Trying to move his face side to side to… I guess, pant for more air. “
He said he thought Floyd was “very [in] danger.”
