Cheney spokesperson on Gaetz: ‘In Wyoming, men don’t wear makeup’

The spokesperson was responding to Gaetz’s plans to attend a rally in Cheyenne, Wyo., Where he would urge Cheney to step down due to his decision to vote in favor of the former’s impeachment. Cheney, the third GOP House leader, was one of 10 House Republicans to vote to impeach Trump.

Cheney’s spokesperson was probably referring to a scene from HBO’s documentary “The Swamp” in which Gaetz is preparing for the day, part of which involves putting on makeup before appearing on television.

Trump’s allies in Congress are considering removing Cheney from the House leadership because of his vote. Gaetz called his leadership position “problematic” for the large base of supporters Trump has amassed.

“Liz Cheney represents a vision of the Republican Party that doesn’t energize anyone outside of Washington, DC, Beltway,” Gaetz told The Hill.

“She never told me in advance. One thing about leadership, if we’re going to work together we have to understand. We know it’s going to become a problem,” McCarthy said in an interview.

Cheney defended herself and said she was not going anywhere.

“We all have an obligation to the Constitution and an obligation to do what we believe to be right, what our oath obliges us to do, that is, above politics, above partisanship “Cheney told Fox News host Dana Perino. “This is, I think, very important, and it is up to all of us.
