Cheryl Burke’s tearful COVID-19 revelation shakes ‘Dance with the stars’

‘Dancing with the Stars’ regular Cheryl Burke announced Sunday that she tested positive for a groundbreaking case of COVID-19 – just a day before she and Platoon star instructor Cody Rigsby performed for the second show of the season on Monday. (See the video below.)

“I can’t believe this has happened,” she said.

An emotional Burke posted Instagram videos before and after her test, which came back positive. The dance pro said she was vaccinated with the Moderna vaccine.

“I can’t believe this has happened,” she said through tears.

Burke said she felt exhausted and was ordered to quarantine herself for 10 days.

“I feel so bad for Cody,” she said. “I feel like I’m letting it down. I just feel like crap to be completely honest. … I just hope I haven’t spread it. For those of you who don’t think COVID is a real thing, it’s fucking real. “

ABC included Burke and Rigsby in a Promotional video on Twitter for Monday’s playoff show which was released late Sunday. A spokesperson for the network told HuffPost on Monday that the show will address the issue in more detail when it airs.
