Midengine Corvette Forum MP Chazcron recently seduced us with a video that puts his Corvette Render motor in a real world alley. Now, he made another clip by taking his representation of the Corvette Convertible, new generation. The summit opens even during the brief video.
We know that the Corvette hardtop will debut July 18, 2019. The new convertible, however, remains a mystery. There is no spying, nor an indication of when the model might arrive. However, the open-top versions of the Vette go back to the beginning of the model, so it's hard to imagine that Chevrolet is abandoning this idea. The world of the automobile might have to wait for its arrival.
The idea of the convertible Corvette proposed by Chazcron changes the design of the rear axle, including the integration of nacelles behind the seats. Where most vehicles with a folding hardtop store most of the roof horizontally, the rendering directs the panel vertically. This arrangement can prevent the part from interfering with the driveline which is also right behind the driver. For another look at the mechanism, watch the clip below.

A simpler method would be to create a removable roof panel, similar to that of the Vette. However, this solution would not be as attractive as that of Chazcron.
The standard powertrain of the Corvette C8 would be a naturally aspirated 6.2-liter V8, with a horsepower of 460 horsepower (343 kilowatts) and an eight-speed dual-clutch gearbox. Later, more powerful options are expected to join the lineup, including a so-called twin-turbo model producing around 600 hp (447 kW) and possibly even a high-performance hybrid with a capacity of about 1,000 hp (745 kW).
