Chevy teases the Midengine Corvette C8 with her steering wheel

Chevrolet on Friday released the first official image of the Corvette C8 2020 steering wheel. It's closer to the steering wheel, for example, the Ford GT than the outgoing Corvette. There are only two spokes on the wheel, each descending in an inverted manner with respect to the Corvette logo flags. There are audio controls under each spoke and some limited switches on the spokes themselves. The huge open space above the hub of the wheel is rather fun, but this may be necessary if the Corvette has a group of large gauges, digital or otherwise.

Chevrolet has also released a picture of the wheel of each previous generation to give people an idea of ​​how it has changed over time. First- and second-generation Corvette wheels were about as simple as possible, but these designs are much harder to replicate today, thanks to pesky airbags and more. The last time we saw a two-spoke Corvette wheel, it was a C4, featuring a fun digital dashboard filling all the free space.

The least attractive wheel of the group belongs to the Corvette C5, with its airbag resembling a very obvious goitre. Again, it was also the low point of Corvette interior design, with barely shaped plastic panels that became a meme for the car enthusiast community before memes became a "thing". ".
