Chicago fire wasted no time welcoming his new paramedic into the fray with an intense call during the Season 9 premiere on Wednesday. Also, is it just us or is it hot in here… between Casey and Brett?
New recruit Gianna grew up in the same neighborhood as Cruz and has the kind of mind that makes Boden think she will fit in perfectly. Right away, Gianna’s nerves are put to the test, as she and Brett are called to an OD victim, whose brother points a gun at them and exclaims, “If he dies.” , tumors.” Gianna says Brett was cool as a cucumber during the incident, but Casey still checks her and offers to call Burgess to get a CPD update on the Armed Brother. Stella then gets a victory when Boden informs her that she has permission from superiors to resume the program outside with a small group. Boden is impressed, especially since his own requests to get more than one person into the reliever pen have been repeatedly denied. Then, after Stella rescues a trapped Severide in a dangerous fire, Boden suggests she take the lieutenant test in a few months so that there are more women of color in leadership roles at CFD.
