BRIDGEVIEW, Ill. (July 9, 2019) – The Chicago Fire Soccer Club and the Village of Bridgeview have agreed on a modified lease for the stadium, which includes a significant contribution by the fire to the development of a multi-sport recreation and entertainment center in Bridgeview, as well as higher annual rents in the village. The agreement also allows the Chicago Fire to play future home games and to conduct team operations at other Chicagoland sports venues.
As the spectacular growth of football in Chicago and the country continues, this new deal allows Bridgeview and the Chicago Fire to better serve fans and players of all levels.
The Chicago Fire will donate $ 5 million to the Village for the renovation and expansion of existing football facilities around SeatGeek Stadium. In addition, under the agreement, Bridgeview would receive $ 60.5 million over the remaining term of the lease, including an initial payment of $ 10 million. The team will continue its valuable partnership with Bridgeview by training on site and implementing Chicago Fire Youth development programs.
Bridgeview Mayor Steven Landek praised the partnership that will help the team grow while maintaining the initial investment in the stadium, which belongs to Bridgeview.

The village and club are preparing final legal agreements for the implementation of the revised stadium lease.
The Chicago fire has deeply rooted the Chicago football community. Nearly 20,000 players participate in Chicago Fire Rec Soccer and nearly 16,000 young players participate in its Chicago Fire Juniors programs. The CIBC field of fire attracts more than 300,000 visitors each year to its center, developing youth soccer and recreational football programs for all ages. The award-winning Chicago Fire Foundation, P.L.A.Y.S. The program is now partnering with 30 public schools in Chicago to enhance academic and social development through sport.
