CHICAGO – The Supreme Attorney of Chicago has been summoned to appear before a court by a retired appeal judge who has asked a special prosecutor to investigate the case's handling of the case. Actor Jussie Smollett.
The Chicago Sun-Times reported that Sheila O 'Brien had also summoned the chief assistant of the Cook County State Attorney, Kim Foxx, and asked Smollett to appear at the hearing at his request.
Foxx was severely criticized when his office announced that he was abandoning the lawsuits against Smollett, accusing the black and homosexual actor of staging a racist and anti-gay attack in downtown Chicago.
Foxx defended the decision to drop the charges and said she was pleased with an independent investigation.
