The clip is from TikTok user dxxdxx7, who is likely an employee of Chick-fil-A. They filmed the process of ground chicken soaked in “washing milk”, coated in a mixture of breadcrumbs and seasoning, then placed in an oil fryer. They didn’t show any unsavory features like thawing frozen material or sticking their hands in raw meat. Overall, viewers were happy with the video, which has now racked up over 13 million views relatively quickly.

“Real chicken? Big flex,” joked a commentator on TikTok. Another wrote: “Honestly I was scared to watch this because these nuggets are life !! But I am so relieved that they are made from nothing!”
User dxxdxx7 has vowed to post more behind-the-scenes Chick-fil-A content in the future, having already shared a few more kitchen previews. A belatedly popular video shows employees experimenting with “secret” spicy nuggets.
Many commentators have called on McDonald’s and other fast food chains to post similar videos, especially McDonald’s. Some discussed the chain’s distinctive McNugget shapes, believing they couldn’t be made from raw chicken in the same way.
Other commentators have criticized Chick-fil-A more generally, commenting on the company’s positions on LGBTQ + customers over the years. They have vowed not to patronize the restaurant chain no matter how the chicken nuggets are made in protest against these policies.
Yet many companies protect their proprietary practices, especially those that employ teenagers, such as fast food restaurants. Some are enforcing tough new rules for using social media at work, and a post like this could put someone’s job at risk.
On the other hand, social media has given some workers a platform to speak out against unfair treatment in the workplace. For example, in August, another Chick-fil-A employee took to TikTok with a termination story for her posts on the platform. She claimed she was fired for sharing “menu hacks” on TikTok, helping customers spend less money and get their favorite seasonal items anytime of the year.
So far, Chick-fil-A has not responded publicly to the new viral video, and the original poster has given no update on the company’s reaction.
