Kansas City Chiefs outside linebacker coach Britt Reid was placed on administrative leave after being involved in a multiple car crash near Arrowhead Stadium on Thursday night.
The chiefs released a statement on the decision on Tuesday.
“We remain in the process of collecting information on the incident, and will continue to assist local authorities as requested.

“We’re focused on Ariel Young and her family. We have reached out to the family to offer our support and resources during this difficult time, and we will continue to pray for his recovery.
On Saturday morning, police obtained a search warrant to search Reid’s cell phone to “help determine if there was any phone activity before or at the time of the crash, and if the phone was then used to discuss the incident with other people. ”according to the search warrant request via KSHB-TV.

Reid told police he had had two to three drinks and was taking an Adderall prescription at the time of the incident, according to FOX4 KC. He also complained of stomach pain and underwent surgery.
Howard Lotven, an attorney from Kansas City, told the station that blood alcohol tests are sent to the Missouri State Highway Patrol Lab and can take weeks.
“It usually takes 4 to 8 weeks. Just because they test these blood tests statewide,” Lotven told FOX4 KC.
Britt Reid’s father Andy Reid was asked about his son again on Monday during his post-Super Bowl press conference.

“This little girl, my heart goes out to her,” Andy Reid said, via KSHB-TV.
He added that his son “is doing better now”.
“I had the chance to speak to her. Again my heart goes out to this young woman. I’m a dad too, so I understand. Obviously I have concerns on both sides,” he said.

Tiffany Verhulst, who created the GoFundMe donation page, provided a brief update on Ariel’s condition on Monday evening.
“Thanks again to everyone who donated and sent so many kind prayers and words to the family. Ariel remains the same and has not woken up yet. We have no further updates. for now, ”she wrote.
A GoFundMe set up to raise funds to cover her medical bills received more than $ 387,000.
