The Chiefs have made their choice to downsize to 85 players before Tuesday’s 4 p.m. ET deadline.

Kansas City announced that the club have given up on defensive back Manny Patterson, given up tight end Evan Baylis and wide receiver Antonio Callaway with an injury designation, released wide receiver Chad Williams and placed running back Elijah McGuire in the reserve of the wounded.

Patterson, Williams and McGuire all played in the Chiefs’ preseason game with the 49ers on Saturday. McGuire had two receptions for 27 yards and one carry for three yards, but injured his ankle during the game.

Baylis and Callaway had both been sidelined for a number of practices. Baylis initially signed with the Chiefs’ practice squad in their playoffs last year. He’s already spent time with the Texans, Colts, Panthers, Packers and Cardinals.

Callaway signed a forward contract with Kansas City in January. He played five games with the Dolphins last season, receiving two receptions. Callaway entered the league as the Browns’ fourth-round pick in 2018.
