SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – Kansas City Chiefs head coach Andy Reid left Arrowhead Stadium in an ambulance and was rushed to hospital after the team’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers.
The Chiefs hosted the Chargers on Sunday, September 26.
Kansas City suffered a 30-24 loss to Los Angeles.
On Sunday night, the Chiefs confirmed Reid’s trip to the hospital and said the coach “is doing well, is currently resting and in stable condition.”
After the game, NFL Network’s James Palmer was the first to report that the former BYU player and graduate assistant felt ill, was not speaking to the media, and was taken from the Chiefs stadium in an ambulance.
“The Chiefs said Andy Reid was feeling bad, so he didn’t go to the media out of caution. I can confirm he left the stadium in an ambulance, ”Palmer tweeted. “The players didn’t know he wasn’t feeling well and they were told he should be okay. Everything indicates that the chefs are taking all precautions. “
Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports reported that leaving Reid in an ambulance was a precautionary measure.
“Andy Reid’s removal from the stadium by ambulance is a precautionary measure, I’m told,” La Canfora tweeted. “He was not feeling well and was dehydrated, but there were no serious medical concerns about him. “
With the loss, the Chiefs have fallen to a record 1-2 this season.
Kansas City’s next game is against the Philadelphia Eagles on Sunday, October 3 at 11 a.m. (MDT). The game will air on CBS.
