Patrick Mahomes designed a trick game. Andy Reid made an entire collection | Kansas City Star
First there was Ferrari Right.
Then Slot Machine Right.
And then Black Pearl.
All with the same concept of Mahomes running before the snap. All with their own wrinkles.
“We’re just trying to be creative; we try to have fun there, enjoy it day after day, ”said Mahomes. “And Coach Reid allows us to be creative in putting together games like that. So obviously we try to run the basics and base sets as much as possible and then when we get the chance we try to run those tricks sets so he calls them more often.
Dan Orlovsky ignites the NFL world with Travis Kelce | FanSided
During an interview on the Dan Patrick Show, Orlovsky shared his thoughts on how, whether given the pitch or Kansas City, the Chiefs would still be the betting favorite to win Super Bowl LV. Part of that reason is because of having Mahomes.
The other? Travis Kelce, his selection as the second best player in the NFL.
“For me, just because he brings such an offense to their attack before the ball is ever broken,” Orlovsky said. “The number of times they put him in specific positions to get cover is such an advantage because it doesn’t just affect the outcome of the game after the snap.
NFL Power Rankings, Week 13: Titans return to top 10, Raiders retire | NFL.com
1 – Kansas City Chiefs
Previous ranking: No. 1
We may be reaching the point where the NFL needs to separate Patrick Mahomes and Tyreek Hill. The pairing is just too unfair for the opponents. Just ask the Buccaneers, a very capable defense who was embarrassed by the Terror Twins in a 27-24 win at Kansas City. Hill boasted over 200 yards at the end of the first quarter and ended his day with 13 catches for 269 yards and three touchdowns on 15 targets. Mahomes came in for nearly 500 yards of attack and froze the game with murderous clinical practice after the Bucs closed in a basket with less than five minutes to go. Mahomes is rightly praised for his next-level arm talent, but he’s also an expert jammer with an untouchable football IQ. He’s the perfect quarterback.

2 – CHEFS
They continue to rack up big numbers on offense. Can they be arrested? It certainly doesn’t sound like him.
Chiefs’ Juan Thornhill is in a ‘good place’ now less than a year removed from ACL tear | Kansas City Star
“The most important thing is to change my mindset,” Thornhill said. “There were times when I just wondered if I would be able to come back on the pitch and play to my ability.
“But as I got there and started working on it, I started to think to myself, OK, I feel like I can come out here and play again. I still feel confident. I still have this power and this speed, so now I have to trust myself.
QB Index, week 13: Russell Wilson out of the top three | NFL.com
Bhanpuri: For nearly every QB in the NFL, there’s a tipping point when the number of attempts triggers a drop in production. The story has always been that the higher the number of passes – and the overall imbalance between the passes – the more likely it is that something has (terribly) gone wrong for the quarterback (more pressure, hits, turnovers) and the team’s overall game plan (the running game fails, the defense struggles, the team loses). Then Patrick mahomes arrived on set and, as he does, completely rewrote the script. His production over the past two seasons of throwing 40 or more assists in a game, as he did in Sunday’s dismantling of the Bucs’ pass defense, is utter nonsense:
Patrick Mahomes: 9-2 record (.818) | 67.1% | 373.8 ypg | 8.4 ypa | 30 TD passes | 5 gifts | 110.9 rating

Derrick Henry is not a game-changer. This is why we are obsessed with him | IF
Henry remains his team’s best-known player, a rare designation for a modern day running back. Yet it does not represent any new strain of strategic awakening. Alvin Kamara, the latest Future of the Position, is a captivating angle speedster, able to cut in any direction at any time. Of course, Henry has an element never seen before, but his is mostly a difference of degree, not type. At 6’3 ” and 247 pounds, he’s as big as some defensive ends, and his nearly 22 mph breakaway speed ranks among the best in the NFL, at any position. Its limbs look hydraulic. He is as formidable a power runner as he is in professional football today. But he’s still a power runner.
In terms of multidimensional meaning, Henry is not the back you’re looking for. His 114.3 rushing yards per game – he’s one of three triple-figure players on average – almost count against him, a sign of obsolescence. But for a raw visual spectacle? “Normally in the NFL you talk about the slightest difference in athletic ability and dexterity,” says Eagle. But “when someone is so dominant in this way, it’s hard not to notice it. It’s a wrecking ball.
5 players under the NFL radar at Pro Bowl level | Larry Brown Sports
1. Emmanuel Ogbah, DE, Miami dolphins
At the start of his fifth season in the NFL, Emmanuel Ogbah had never recorded more than 5.5 sacks, which he has done twice in his career – first as a rookie with the Cleveland Browns. , then again in 2019 as a member of the Kansas City Chiefs. Through 11 games in 2020, Ogbah leads the Dolphins with 8.0 sacks and 14 hits. But its impact is not limited to rushing the passer. Ogbah also has three forced fumbles and is third on the team with five defensive passes. Collectively, these numbers also make her one of football’s most successful defensive volleys and should warrant serious consideration in the Pro Bowl.
Torn ACL Confirmed For Pittsburgh Steelers’ Bud Dupree, Source Says | ESPN
Asked about Dupree’s injury on Thursday, coach Mike Tomlin said, “You can characterize Bud’s out for the year as an official with a serious knee injury.
Dupree appeared to injure his knee during a non-contact play in the second half of Wednesday’s 19-14 win over the Baltimore Ravens.
Playing on the one-year franchise tag, Dupree will be a free agent after this season. He continued his 2019 breakout campaign with another strong effort this season, registering eight sacks, two forced fumbles and 26 tackles. Along with TJ Watt, Dupree was a founding member of the Steelers passing rush.

Week 12 Defensive Movie Review: Quick Start, Slow End
The chiefs’ defense is out the door hot in the first quarter, holding the Buccaneers to 3.14 yards per play and posting a 71% defensive success rate. That tied (with the first quarter of Week 7) for the team’s best quarterly success rate this season. This performance was integral to the Chiefs’ immediate construction of a three-point lead.
The second quarter was a little different – albeit in one Buccaneers drive. The Chiefs allowed 12.57 yards per play and a 14% defensive success rate. To put that number into perspective, the Chiefs’ defense led by Steve Spagnuolo hadn’t had such a poor quarterback since the 2019 Week 5 game against the Indianapolis Colts.
