Chiefs said Mahomes was being assessed for a concussion and was replaced by Chad Henne. In his first practice, Henne was 1-for-2 with five passing yards. Darrell Williams mainly carried the ball during training.

He was then excluded.

The Chiefs got a field goal and led 22-10 with 4:24 left.

Mahomes was 21 for 30 with 255 passing yards and one touchdown pass. He also had 14 rushing yards and a rushing touchdown.

Not having Mahomes would obviously put a dent in those plans. He was the Super Bowl LIV MVP last year when the Chiefs picked up a comeback win to defeat the San Francisco 49ers.
