Chiefs place WR Demarcus Robinson and C Daniel Kilgore on reserve / COVID-19 List

The Chiefs are currently without a few backers, but they could both return in time for Super Bowl LV.

Kansas City placed wide receiver Demarcus Robinson and center Daniel Kilgore on the reserve / COVID-19 list, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported on Monday. Neither player is a positive case, however, and if they continue to test negative they should be available to play against the Buccaneers this Sunday, Rapoport added.

Chiefs coach Andy Reid has confirmed the inclusion of both of his players on the roster and said they discovered last Sunday that they were seen as close contacts.

“They will work on it,” said Reid.

Neither player did much in the playoffs, but nonetheless made their respective marks in the team’s second straight Super Bowl inning. Robinson, who started a number of games in place of injured Sammy Watkins, finished the regular season as the Chiefs’ third receiver with 45 catches for 466 yards and three touchdowns. He had five receptions against Tamp Bay in Week 12.

Kilgore has made four starts and is considered a key reserve given the team’s waning depth on the offensive line.
