Chiefs suffer crucial loss on offensive line ahead of Super Bowl LV

The Kansas City Chiefs will head to Super Bowl LV with much of their squad missing.

Offensive tackle Eric Fisher reportedly suffered an Achilles tear in the Chiefs’ 38-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, according to the NFL Network.

After Sunday night’s game, head coach Andy Reid told reporters “It’s not going too well with his Achilles” and then confirmed the news on Monday afternoon.

Not only will the Chiefs be without Fisher for their Super Bowl showdown with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, but there is a chance that starting right tackle Mitchell Schwartz will miss the game as well with a back injury.

Tampa Bay’s top passer Shaquil Barrett and Jason Pierre-Paul are licking each other’s chops ahead of this Super Bowl game, especially after harassing Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers in the NFC Championship.

As a team, the Bucs came away with five sacks, but Barrett and Pierre-Paul made them all up. Barrett knocked Rodgers down three times and Pierre-Paul sacked him twice. The Packers were without All-Pro left tackle David Bakhtiari, and the forward-7 Bucs were able to exploit their lack of protection for Rodgers.
